No. A monoblock portable air conditioner only needs a window kit for the exhaust hose and a standard power socket. Installation-free split systems use a pre-charged connection that also requires no certified installer.
As a guide, allow roughly 1,000 BTU per 1.5 m² for a well-insulated room. A 9,000 BTU unit suits rooms up to about 25 m², while 12,000 to 14,000 BTU covers open-plan spaces. We size units for you on request.
